About MFR Cadets

 About Our Program:

In order to become a Cadet you must fill out an application, the application can be filled out directly through our website. 

The applications for the 2026 July Academy will open January 1- February 28, 2026.

We do have minimum requirements in order to become a member of our program which include:

Be between fourteen and twenty years old.

Must have completed the eighth grade.

Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Complete the PT Test and Interview.

Must attend and complete the one week Fire Cadet Academy in July. 

Maintain 15 hours per month of station time and meetings. 

New Cadets are only accepted into the program once per year, where they must complete a one week academy in order to become a Cadet.

Requirements while in the program:

Maintain 2.0 GPA or higher 

15 Hours of "Station of Time" 

Attend the 1 Saturday Monthly Meeting 

Participate in Department and City Events
